Fernbank Museum

Role:

Public Relations Coordinator

Fernbank Museum is Atlanta’s home for science and discovery for children…oh, and of course, dinosaurs. How could I forget the dinosaurs?! With an abundance of attractions for families to enjoy in the metro-Atlanta area, I was tasked with creating and marketing engaging events and programming to drive ticket sales and increase traffic. PR was a key piece of this equation, particularly for rotating exhibitions and films.

  • I worked closely with the Marketing, Education, and Fundraising teams to secure effective press placements for exhibitions, events, and campaigns to generate ticket sales, memberships, and gifts.

I also planned, executed, and marketed all of the Museum’s children’s events.

Marketing activities included copywriting for web, email marketing, influencer campaigns, PR placements, exhibition launches, event marketing, whitepaper content marketing, press releases, PR strategy, and more.

    • Developed and produced 10 new owned events annually, increasing ticket sales by 30-50% on event days, and increasing event sales by 15-30% year over year.

    • Increased traveling exhibition publicity by 10-15% year over year
